Eva Van Looveren (CEO 3D Diamonds & Diamscan), pregnant for a couple of months, was happy to be expecting twins. This big change felt as new wonderful life, she had to do something with this very particular energy. She got inspired; her pregnancy was a sparkling source of inspiration… diamond!
But there was more involved; she hit upon the idea to create a special diamond for her twins. Twins catch more attention and the diamond had to do the same.
In the design of the particular diamond cut, the point of view was to do something with the double, the binary characteristic that makes twins unique. The pieces of the puzzle became clear, ready to shape, but she didn’t have the skills required for such an extraordinary diamond. She asked her father for advice. With his rich and long time experience and expertise, he might be able to help.
Together they exchanged thoughts. ‘More than one new life’, ‘a diamond lives’… ‘ a double life’.
This was the concept: a double sparkling, infinite binary ‘living’ diamond. It became a journey of experimenting, thinking, starting over and over again with a whole team of experts and experienced, skilled people. They had to leave the classic paths to find a way, leading to a new process of diamond cut. By excessive R&D, slowly a new way to cut diamond was discovered; a new technique that had to be applied.
Precisely one day… before she gave birth to her human twins, this revolutionary diamond cut was born with the logically corresponding name ‘Antwerp Twins™’ . A unique concept that –literally- reflects a fresh and innovating light to the Antwerp Diamond Industry. This diamond cut gives a diamond a double dimension and results in ADDITIONAL LIFE WITHIN THE DIAMOND AND A MORE SPARKLING CHARACTER.
